Midway through the four-round NCAA Division III women's golf championships, Macalester's Jordan Matheson (Sr., Vancouver, B.C. / The Nichols School – N.Y.) stands in 20th place. Matheson finished Wednesday's opening round at PGA Village in Port St. Lucie, Fla., with a 79 and added an 82 Thursday for a 36-hole total of 161.

The tournament leader after two rounds is Susan Martin of Methodist (N.C.) at even par 144 and only three others are in single digits over par on this challenging course. At 17-over-par, Matheson is only six strokes out of fifth place. Matheson is going for her second straight high national finish after placing 13th a year ago.
