Macalester vs. Carleton box score
Macalester suffered its first shutout defeat since early in the '08 season, falling to Carleton 9-0 Tuesday in Northfield to wind things up at 11-7 overall and 5-5 in the MIAC. This defeat, coupled with Concordia's 5-4 win at the same time against St. Catherine, keeps the Scots out of the MIAC post-season tourney this weekend.
This is the first time in 33 matches that the Scots have been blanked.
Three Scots – all at the top of the lineup – posted at least 13 wins this spring in the team's 18 matches.
Angie Horner (Sr., Bismarck, N.D. / Century) closed out the year with a team-best 16-2 record and wraps up her brilliant two-year Macalester career with a 35-3 singles record – all at No. 1.
Stephanie Lee (Jr., Camarillo, Calif. / Oaks Christian) closed out the year with a 13-5 mark at No. 2 singles, and
Amanda Wenzel (Jr., Green Bay, Wis. / Southwest) went 14-4 at No. 3 singles.
