Macalester vs. Luther box score

Macalester and IIAC power Luther met in Rochester Saturday night for a non-conference dual and it was the Norse coming out on top with an 8-1 win over the Scots. Luther, which also plays a fall season, is 16-5 during the '08-09 campaign, while Macalester is 0-3 after playing three very good teams.

The most exciting match was at No. 1 singles, where Macalester's Angie Horner (Jr., Bismarck, N.D. / Century) pulled off a hard-fought 7-5, 7-6 (7-3) match over LC's Alana Humpal.

Luther, however, won everything else. Mac's closest defeat came at No. 2 singles, where Stephanie Lee (Jr., Camarillo, Calif. / Oaks Christian) fell 4-6, 4-6.

The Scots play their second conference match of the season Saturday (March 7) when they host Concordia-Moorhead at Lifetime Fitness in Lakeville at 12 noon.
