Macalester vs. St. Thomas box score

St. Thomas stayed on top of the MIAC standings by snapping Macalester's five-match winning streak, beating the visiting Scots 8-1. UST goes to 6-0 in the MIAC and is one of two unbeaten conference teams, along with Gustavus, and improves to 13-1 overall. The Scots go to 4-2 in MIAC matches and 10-3 on the season.

Angie Horner (So., Bismarck, N.D. / Century) accounted for Mac's lone victory when she beat UST's Alex Frank 6-4, 6-1 at first singles. Horner's season record is now 12-1 at No. 1 singles.

Mac's Stephanie Lee (So., Camarillo, Calif. / Oaks Christian) came close, but lost a 6-0, 3-6, 10-12 match at No. 2 singles. This was just her third loss of the season.  All three doubles matches were closely contested.

The Scots host Carleton on Thursday (April 10) at Macalester Tennis Courts at 5 p.m. in a key MIAC test for the team.
