MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The Scots swim and dive squad showed out in their last meet of the season at the 2025 MIAC Swimming & Diving Championships, highlighted by senior
Izzy Uhlorn-Thornton (Mill Valley, Calif./Tamalpais) and sophomore
Molly Nuckolls (Lawrence, Kan./Free State). Uhlorn-Thornton captured her third straight 200-yard breaststroke title, while Nuckolls powered to victory in the 200-yard butterfly, anchoring a standout performance for the Scots.
Uhlorn-Thornton dominated the 200-yard breaststroke, touching first in 2:20.99 setting a new program record. She maintained control throughout the race, splitting 1:06.30 at the 100-yard mark and 1:42.50 at 150 yards, showing the consistency and experience that have made her a three-time conference champion. Carolyn Wolking (Micanopy, Fla./Santa Fe College), who added points for the Scots with an eighth-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle.
Nuckolls delivered another highlight for Macalester in the 200-yard butterfly, claiming first in 2:08.63. She split 1:00.36 at the 100-yard mark and powered through the final 50 yards to secure the win. Sophomore
Hannah Zurn (Hudson, Wis./ Hudson) earned honorable mention with a fourth place finish, and freshman
Annika Hensel (Houston, Texas/ St. John's School) earned seventh place, giving the Scots additional points and helping to boost the team's scoring..
On the diving board, first-year
Ainsley Kashatus (Washington, D.C./Holton Arms School) added another podium finish for Macalester with third place in the 3-meter dive. These top-three finishes, combined with key honorable mention points from other Scots, allowed the Scots to finish off the final day of the MIAC Championship on a high note.
With multiple first-place finishes, including Uhlorn-Thornton's third straight 200 breaststroke crown, and strong supporting performances across swimming and diving, Macalester capped off the MIAC Championships and their season on a high note.
