Men’s Basketball: Noah Shannon Chosen MIAC Offensive Player of the Week

ST. PAUL, Minn. – Senior forward Noah Shannon (Northfield, Ill./New Trier) was named the MIAC Men's Basketball Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending Jan. 4, the conference announced today. Shannon averaged 26.5 points and 8.0 rebounds over two home games last week.

On Friday, Shannon registered 23 points on 11-of-15 shooting from the field in a close loss to UW-Superior, 78-73. He also had six rebounds, two assists and three steals in that game. Then on Saturday, Shannon tallied 30 points and 10 rebounds while shooting 72.2 percent (13-of-18) from the floor in an 89-77 victory over MIAC foe Saint Mary's. For the week he made 72.7 percent (24-of-33) of his field goal attempts.

Shannon currently leads the MIAC in scoring with 21.7 points per game. He also ranks third in the conference in rebounding (8.5 rpg) and assists (3.6 apg) while ranking seventh in field goal percentage (.580). He was selected the MIAC Offensive Player of the Week back on Nov. 17, and also earned the honor once as a sophomore and once as a junior.

The Scots head to Collegeville, Minn. on Wednesday, Jan. 7 to face Saint John's in a MIAC game. Tip-off is set for 7:00 p.m.
