ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Macalester College men's soccer team ranks first among all NCAA men's College soccer programs in team grade-point average for the 2024-25 academic year, earning the Team Academic Award from the United Soccer Coaches, the organization announced today. The Scots registered a team GPA of 3.83, just ahead of fellow Division III program Colorado College at 3.80.
Macalester, coached by
Gregg Olson, also recorded the highest team GPA among all divisions during the 2021-22 academic year, and led all Division III programs during the 2019-20 season. The Scots also ranked second nationally and in Division III last year with a team GPA of 3.79, behind only MIT. This is the 13th consecutive year the Scots have earned the Team Academic Award, which requires a team GPA of at least 3.0.

Nick Kent (St. Louis Park, Minn./St. Louis Park) and
Tanguy Lesegretain (Warren, N.J./Watchung Hills) and rising juniors
Jack Freimann (Denver, Colo./Northfield) and
Michael Myers (San Rafael, Calif./Marin Catholic) were named to the CSC Academic All-District Team. The six Scots were among 24 members of the men's soccer team to earn Academic All-MIAC accolades last fall.
