COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. - The Macalester College women's track & field team competed on the first full day of the MIAC Indoor Track & Field Championships on Friday at Saint John's University. The Scots scored 20 points today and are in seventh place in the team standings with 24 points.
The last event of the night provided the highlight for Macalester, as the distance medley relay team of sophomore
Ivy Coldren (Frederick, Md./Urbana), first year
Claire Beckley (Carlisle, Mass./Concord Carlisle), junior
Hadley Wilkins (St. Louis, Mo./Whitfield School) and first year
Kate Fox (Seattle, Wash./Roosevelt) placed third with a time of 12:46.83. The performance earns the team All-MIAC status and is the ninth-fastest time in Macalester history.
In the individual events on the track, first year
Ariella Rogahn-Press (Albuquerque, N.M./Bosque School) finished fourth in the 400 meters with a time of 57.75. In the 5000 meters, sophomore
Ingrid Norquist (Minneapolis, Minn./Anoka) placed sixth with a personal-best time of 18:25.50, which ranks fourth all-time at Macalester. Beckley also posted a personal best in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.98, which also ranks fourth in program history. Fox turned in a sixth-place finish in the mile in 5:15.67, which is fourth on the Scots' all-time list. Places 4th-through-6th receive All-MIAC honorable mention.
The MIAC Indoor Track & Field Championships conclude on Saturday, Mar. 1, with the field events beginning at 12:00 p.m. and the track events starting at 1:00 p.m. at Saint John's University.
