ST. PAUL, Minn. – Macalester College junior
Elizabeth Trevathan (St. Paul, Minn./St. Paul Academy) was named the MIAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week for the week ending Feb. 16, the league announced today. Trevathan won both of her matches at Singles and doubles to help the Scots defeat the University of Northwestern, 4-3 on Saturday.
In doubles, Trevathan paired with junior
Savannah Haugen (Bemidji, Minn./Bemidji) at No. 1 doubles to defeat Abby Johnson and Paige Johnson, 6-2. In singles, Trevathan blanked Abby Johnson at No. 1 singles, 6-0, 6-0 for a key point in the closely contested dual.
Trevathan has yet to lose this season, with a 4-0 record at No. 1 singles and a 4-0 mark with Haugen at No. 1 doubles. Last season, she posted a singles record of 13-5 and was named to the All-MIAC team.
Next up for the Scots is a MIAC dual at Saint Mary's University on Saturday, Mar. 1, beginning at 1:30 p.m. in Winona, Minn.
