ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Macalester College women's soccer team received the Team Academic award from the United Soccer Coaches organization today. Macalester posted a team GPA of 3.76, which is the 12
th-highest grade point average across all NCAA Divisions during the 2023-24 academic year. The Scots' GPA is also the fifth-highest in Division III.
Macalester, coached by
Madeline Buckley, is one of 102 schools, out of 405 total, to have both their men's and women's programs recognized. This is the 17
th time in the past 21 years the Scots have earned this award, which requires teams to have an overall team GPA of at least 3.0.

Becky Mulcahy (Baltimore, Md./Roland Park Country School) and
Maia Lemov (Delmar, N.Y./Bethlehem Central), current senior
Gabriela Valle (Compton, Calif./Chadwick School), and recent graduates
Ella Thomsen (Palo Alto, Calif./Palo Alto),
Mia Brisbin (Los Angeles, Calif./Crossroads School), and
Livi Novello (East Lansing, Mich./East Lansing) were named to the Division III Academic All-District Team by the College Sports Communicators (CSC). These six Scots plus seven others were named Academic All-MIAC last fall.
