Women’s Swimming & Diving: Radke Breaks Record at Grinnell Last Chance Meet

| By:
GRINNELL, Iowa – The Macalester College women's swimming & diving team sent a small contingent to the Grinnell Last Chance Meet on Saturday. The highlight of the meet for the Scots was a new school record for senior Jocelyn Radke (Indianapolis, Ind.) in her final collegiate competition.

Radke broke the school record in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:10.60. The old mark of 2:10.93 was set by Clare Pillsbury '12 in 2009. Radke completes her career at Macalester with four individual school records while also swimming on four school record-breaking relays.

Also competing on Saturday was sophomore Skye Schmit (Stillwater, Minn.), who swam a time of 5:09.85 in the 500-yard freestyle. The Scots' 200-yard medley relay team of junior Verity Wray-Raabolle (Owatonna, Minn./Bethlehem Academy), sophomore Izzy Uhlhorn-Thornton (Mill Valley, Calif./Tamalpais), Radke and junior Olga Merkadeau (Lafayette, Calif./The College Preparatory School) turned in a time of 1:46.68.

The competition wraps up an exciting 2023-24 season that saw Schmit earning MIAC co-Swimmer of the Year honors and head coach Kyllian Griffin garnering MIAC Coach of the Year accolades as Macalester finished third at the MIAC Swimming & Diving Championships last weekend.
