ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Macalester College women's cross country team is set to compete at the MIAC Championships on Saturday, Nov. 2 at St. Olaf. The Scots are looking to improve upon its eighth-place finish at the conference meet a year ago.
First year
Kate Fox (Seattle, Wash./Roosevelt) has been the Scots' top runner all season, leading the team in each of its five races so far this season. Fox was 16th overall and ninth among Division III runners at Carleton's Running of the Cows on Oct. 5. Sophomore
Ivy Coldren (Frederick, Md./Urbana) has been Macalester's No. 2 finisher in four meets this fall, while sophomore
Destiny Osemwengie (Buford, Ga./Peachtree Ridge) followed Fox at the Griak invitational on Sept. 20 and has been the third Scot to cross the finish line in three events.
Senior
Sylvia Coyle (Wyoming, Ohio/Wyoming), junior
Mara Pirone (Carrboro, N.C./Chapel Hill), sophomore
Samantha Ellis (Intervale, N.H./Gould Academy) and first years
Sophia Fan (Mercer Island, Wash./Mercer Island) and
Megan Worry (Menlo Park, Calif./Notre Dame) all have finished in the top five at some point this season and give the Scots depth at the MIAC Championships.
