Men’s Cross Country: Scots Remain Eighth in North Region Rankings

| By:
ST. PAUL, Minn. – For the second week in a row, the Macalester College men's cross country team is ranked eighth in the North Region, according to the USTFCCCA Division III Regional Rankings, the organization announced today.

The Scots did not race last week after taking second among Division III teams and sixth overall at the Griak Invitational on Sept. 20. The North Region top 10 remained the same as last week, with UW-La Crosse at No. 1. UW-Whitewater is next, followed by St. Olaf, UW-Eau Claire and UW-Stout to round out the top five. UW-Stevens Point, the lone Division III team to finish ahead of Macalester at the Griak Invitational, is sixth, followed by UW-Platteville, Macalester, UW-Oshkosh and Milwaukee School of Engineering.

So far this season, Macalester has wins over regionally-ranked teams Dubuque, Augustana and St. Olaf.

The Scots' next race is the Running of the Cows, hosted by Carleton College, on Saturday, Oct. 5 in Northfield, Minn.
