NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The Macalester College men's cross country team sent a portion of its runners to St. Olaf for the AECMR 5K Friday afternoon. The Scots lost to the Oles in the team scoring, 18 to 42.
Leading the way for Macalester was first year
Chase Fitterer (Spokane, Wash./International School of Business), who placed third with a time of 16:14.60. Senior
Jay Lebakken (Minneapolis, Minn./Edina) was next in seventh (16:24.0), followed by first years
Ben Walton-Scott (Atlanta, Ga./The Paideia School) and
Matthew Walton-Scott (Atlanta, Ga./The Paideia School) in ninth (16:30.0) and 11th (16:32.0), respectively. Sophomore
Jack Riley (Wrenshall, Minn./Wrenshall) closed out the top five for the Scots in 13th (16:35.0), just ahead of first year
Donovan Connole (West Hartford, Conn./William H. Hall) in 14th (16:37.60) and sophomore
Sam Parsons (Eugene, Ore./South Eugene) in 16th (16:40.50).
The Scots now prepare for the NCAA North Region Meet, which will take place on Nov. 15 in Colfax, Wis.
