ST. PAUL, Minn. – Macalester college first year goalkeeper
Abigail Heuga (San Francisco, Calif./Urban School of San Francisco) was named MIAC Defensive Player of the Week, announced the conference today. Heuga was instrumental in helping the Scots to two MIAC victories last week.
Heuga played all 180 last week, in Macalester's first two MIAC games of the season. She recorded six saves against Saint Benedict on Sept 12, leading the Scots to a 2-1 victory, for the program's first win against the Bennies since 2015. On Sept 16, she tallied 12 saves, including 10 in the first half, to secure a 1-0 shutout against Gustavus.
Heuga and the Scots' next game will be a non-conference matchup on Thursday Sept 21 at UW-Eau Claire.
