ST. PAUL, Minn. – Macalester College junior guard Caleb Williams (Wild Rose, Wis./Wild Rose) was named to the D3Hoops.com All-Region 9 second team, the website announced today. Williams repeats as an All-Region player after making the third team last season.

Williams earned his second All-MIAC citation after averaging 21.5 points per game this season to rank 23rd in Division III and third in the MIAC. His 74 three-pointers are the second-most in the MIAC, and he also is second in the conference with 1.8 steals per game. Williams stepped up during big moments, hitting the game-winning shot against Saint Mary's on Jan. 18, and draining a three-pointer at the end of regulation to send the game to overtime in an 84-75 victory over St. Olaf on Feb. 8. In just his 53rd game as a Scot, Williams became the 24th men's basketball player in the program's history to score 1,000 career points. He currently ranks 17th all-time at Macalester with 1,066 points.

Williams, who was named to the Academic All-America first team earlier today, is one of five MIAC players on this year's All-Region team, joining MIAC Player of the Year Reheem Anthony of Saint Mary's, Jeremy Beckler of Carleton, Bradley Cimperman of Hamline and Ryan Thissen of Saint John's.

Macalester, coached by Abe Woldeslassie, finished this past season with a 15-11 record and placed fourth in the MIAC to qualify for the MIAC Playoffs for the second straight year.
