Northfield, Minn. – The Macalester College men's cross-country team traveled to Northfield, Minn. to run at the Ole Opener, hosted by St. Olaf. The Scots finished second, with 32 points. The Oles took first with 26 points and Luther came in third with 85 points.
The first Macalester runner to cross the finish line was sophomore
Ben Crotteau (Lincoln, Neb./Lincoln Southeast). He finished second in a time of 16:14.6. Exactly 10 seconds behind, with a time of 16:24.6, was fellow sophomore
Nick Ihrke (Northbrook, Ill./Glenbrook North) in third. Macalester's third runner was sophomore
Reece McKee (Charlottesville, VA./Charlottesville). He finished fifth with a time of 16:42.8. First year
Jordan Galloway (Portland, Ore./Grant) finished 10
th (17:00.5). Senior
Cole Peske (Sussex, Wis./Hamilton) and sophomore
Brock Adams (Corona, CA/Santiago) finished 12
th (17:07.4) and 13
th (17:10.1). The seventh runner to cross the line for the Scots was first year
Tyler Edwards (Beaverton, Ore./Oregon Episcopal), finishing 16
th in a time of 17:12.4.
The Scots will stay in St. Paul, Minn. for their next meet on Friday Sept. 9. Macalester will run at the MIAC Preview Meet hosted by Hamline.
