Women’s Golf: WGCA Recognizes Six Scots as All-American Scholars

ST. PAUL, Minn. – Macalester College seniors Emma Iverson (Northfield, Minn./Northfield) and Tenley Smith (Williamstown, Mass./Mount Greylock Regional), sophomore Phebe Chen (South Barrington, Ill./Barrington) and first years Kirstyn Barsola (New Braunfels, Texas/Academy of the Holy Angels), Lauren Petro (Canton, Ohio/GlenOak) and Elsa Vieregg (Northbrook, Ill./New Trier) were honored as All-American Scholars for the 2021-22 academic year by the Women's Golf Coaches Association, the organization announced today.

This is the fourth consecutive year that Smith has received the WGCA All-American Scholar award, while Iverson is making her third appearance on the All-American Scholar list. Last month, Smith, Iverson and Chen were named Academic All-Conference by the MIAC.

In order to be selected to the WGCA All-American Scholar Team, golfers must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.50. This year, a total of 1,485 women's collegiate golfers across all divisions were recognized with the prestigious honor.
