St. Paul, Minn. – The Macalester College women's track and field team will head to Winona on to compete at the MIAC Championships hosted by Saint Mary's. The Championships will start Friday and go through Saturday.
On the track, sophomore
Maria Blaesing (Munster, Ind./Munster) is seeded first in the 1500-meter run with a time of 4:36.23. Blaesing's time ranks 29
th in Division III. First year
Ellie Sablak (Concord, Mass./Concord-Carlisle) is seeded 12
th in the event.
In the field, senior
Hannah Grosse (Minneapolis, Minn./Coon Rapids) is ranked second, with a mark of 3.60 meters (11' 9.75"), which broke her outdoor record of 3.43 meters (11' 4.25") that she set at last year's Outdoor Championships. The mark also tops her indoor record-breaking mark of 3.46 meters (11' 4.25") from earlier this year. Senior
Mikayla Ennevor (Wayzata, Minn./Breck School) is seeded seventh in the long jump with a mark of 5.30 meters (17' 4.75"). Junior
Journey Amundson (Iron River, Wis./Northwestern) ranks second in the triple jump with a mark of 11.37 meters (37' 3.75").
Sophomore
Sarah Beth Hobby (South Pittsburg, Tenn./St. Andrew's-Sewanee School), who competed last week in the Multi-Event Championships and earned a team point for the Scots, placing eighth in the Heptathlon, is seeded fifth in the javelin throw with a mark of 34.63 meters (113' 7").
