ST. PAUL, Minn. – After playing a schedule consisting of conference games in 2021, the Macalester College baseball team will play a full 40-game schedule in 2022. The slate begins with 10 games at the Tucson Invitational Mar. 12-19.

After returning north, the Scots will play a doubleheader with Minn. Morris on Friday, Mar. 25 at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis. Non-conference games at Bethany Lutheran on Mar. 26 and at the University of Northwestern on Mar. 30 are followed by the MIAC and home opener against Bethel on Friday, Apr. 1 at Nicholson Field. The regular season ends on May 3 with a home twinbill against Hamline. The top four teams in the conference standings qualify for the MIAC Playoffs, which begin on May 12.

Macalester, coached by Matt Parrington, has 24 players back from last season, led by eight seniors. Fourteen first years joined the team this spring.

The Scots open the 2022 season on Mar. 12 in Tucson, Ariz., against Sul Ross State. The first pitch is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. Central.
