ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Macalester College men's swimming & diving team hosted Carleton in a dual meet on Saturday at Riley Pool. The Scots scored 81 points in 16 events compared to 190 for the Knights.
Sophomore
Charles Batsaikhan (Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia/East Chapel Hill) posted one of two individual victories for Macalester, winning the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:01.15. He also placed second in both the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:18.29 and the 200-yard individual medley in 2:06.53. The other Scot to win an event was first year
TJ Palli (Maple Grove, Minn./Maple Grove), who won the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 22.62. Palli took second in the 100-yard freestyle in 49.68.
First year
Kynan DeSouza-Chen (Boulder, Colo./Fairview) earned two second-place finishes in the 100-yard butterfly (55.77) and the 200 butterfly (2:07.78). Sophomore
Isaac Kisker (Dayton, Ohio/Oakwood) took second behind Palli in the 50 freestyle (22.72) and was fourth in the 100 butterfly (58.27). First year
Will St. John (McGaheysville, Va./East Rockingham) finished third in the 100 breaststroke in 1:03.78 and fourth in the 200 breaststroke (2:19.51).
Others swimming well included sophomore
Ryan McNeff (Seattle, Wash./Roosevelt), who was third in the 1000-yard freestyle, sophomore
Adrian Aguilar (Oakland, Calif./St. Josepeh's Notre Dame), who finished fourth in both the 200-yard freestyle and in the 100 freestyle, and sophomore
Jay Fanning (Tiffin, Ohio/Columbian), who placed fourth in the 500-yard freestyle.
Macalester next competes in a dual meet at Hamline on Saturday, Nov. 19.
