ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Macalester College baseball team will play a full MIAC schedule this spring. The Scots will play doubleheaders against all 10 conference opponents while also playing a single game against five MIAC teams.

The season gets underway on Friday, April 2 for a single game against Augsburg at Parade Stadium, followed by a doubleheader at home against the Auggies on Saturday, April 3 at Nicholson Field. The regular season concludes on May 5 with a twinbill at St. Olaf, while the MIAC Playoffs run from May 19-22. The regular-season champion advances to the playoffs at the end of the season schedule, while the remaining 10 teams will face off in best-of-three series May 15-16. The winners of the five series advance to the MIAC Playoffs.

Macalester, coached by Matt Parrington, has 28 players back from last season, led by 10 seniors. Eight first years joined the team this spring.

"Our baseball program is looking forward to getting back on the field for conference games," Parrington said. "The group is chomping at the bit to compete."

The Scots open the 2021 season on April 2 against Augsburg. The first pitch is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. at Parade Stadium in Minneapolis.
