ST. PETER, Minn. – The Macalester College men's swimming and diving team competed in the Grace Goblirsch Invitational Saturday afternoon at Gustavus. The Scots placed third out of four teams in the team scoring with 378 points.
Several Scots had strong performances on Saturday, led by first year
Charles Batsaikhan (Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia/East Chapel Hill). Batsaikhan placed second in both the 100- and 200-yard breaststroke, swimming season-best times of 1:02.01 and 2:19.73. He also joined seniors
Benjamin Blomquist (Las Vegas, Nev./Ed W. Clark) and
Aidan Williams (Chicago, Ill./Walter Payton College Prep), and first year
Isaac Kisker (Dayton, Ohio/Oakwood) to help Macalester's 200-yard medley relay take fourth in 1:42.18.
Fifth-place finishes were turned in by Williams in the 100-yard backstroke (58.76), Blomquist in the 200-yard butterfly, and first year
Ben Lewin (Beachwood, Ohio/Beachwood) in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:27.12). Kisker placed sixth in the 50-yard freestyle in 23.13, senior
Tanner Hubbard (Farmington, Minn./Farmington) was sixth in the 1650-yard freestyle in 18:55.17, and sophomore
William Nicholson (North Yarmouth, Maine) took sixth in the 200-yard backstroke in 2:22.70.
Macalester returns home to host the Roger Ahlman Invitational on Dec. 3-4 at Riley Pool.
