Highlights as a Scot: Starting shortstop on the Scots' 2017 team that won the MIAC Playoffs his first year at Macalester… Moved to second base the next year… Three-year member of the baseball leadership team and a two-year captain… Batted a career-best .325 as a junior… Hit a grand slam in a 10-3 victory over Gustavus as a sophomore.

Coach Parrington: "Carl was incredibly consistent as a performer on the field, but more importantly as a friend. His instincts were to lead by example, but he also possessed an innate sense of connecting with teammates and made everyone feel like part of the group."

Favorite memory as a Scot: "My favorite memory as a Scot is winning the MIAC playoff tournament my first spring in 2017; those couple weeks were among the most memorable in my life."
