CHASKA, Minn. – The Macalester men's golf team was back in action on Saturday, defeating Crown in a dual. First year
Jason Shi (Wesley Chapel, Fla./Saddlebrook Prep) took home the medalist honors in the dual, shooting six over par for a score of 78, which is the best round that he has shot so far this year.
The team shot a 323 on the day, which was +35. Crown recorded a score of 347, coming in at +59.
Senior
Alex Young-Williams (Arlington, Va./Yorktown) matched Shi's score on the course, but was playing as an individual. This was a career low for the Virginia native.
Alex Johanson (Walla Walla, Wash./Walla Walla) finished a stroke behind Shi and Young-Williams, tallying a score of 79. First year
Tommy Hayes (Chicago, Ill./Whitney M. Young Magnet) had the next best score for Macalester, shooting an 82.
Fritz Gessl (Chester Springs, Pa./Westtown) and
Jim Smith (Shippensburg, Pa./Shippensburg) rounded out the team score, both recording 84s.
The team will next compete on September 14 and 15, taking on St. Olaf and Carleton in a triangular in Northfield.
