ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Macalester College men's swimming and diving team hosted Carleton College in a dual meet Friday night at Riley Pool. The Scots fell to the Knights in the team scoring, 165-57.
In the swimming events, sophomore
Benjamin Blomquist (Las Vegas, Nev./Ed. W. Clark) was victorious in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 56.95. Sophomore
Tanner Hubbard (Farmington, Minn./Farmington) also finished first in the 500-yard freestyle in 5:08.56. First year
Benjamin Levy (Las Vegas, Nev./Ed W. Clark) turned in a strong night in the pool, taking second in the 100-yard freestyle (52.92) and third in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:05.24).
Junior
Kieran Cuddy (Northfield, Minn./Northfield) swept both diving events, winning the 1-meter board with a score of 263.18 and the 3-meter board with 292.50 points.
The Scots will participate in the 14th annual Ted Mullin Hour of Power on Nov. 12 to raise funds for cancer research. The next competition for Macalester is on Saturday, Nov. 16, when the Scots host Saint Mary's University and Gustavus in a tri-meet at Riley Pool.
