ST. PAUL, Minn. – Macalester College senior midfielder Nick Moore (Georgetown, Mass./Governor's Academy) and sophomore defender Will Orser (Eau Claire, Wis./Eau Claire Memorial) were named to the All-MIAC men's soccer team, as the conference announced its year-end awards today. Additionally, junior forward Floyd Krom (Naaldwijk, Netherlands/UWC-Costa Rica) received All-MIAC honorable mention, and senior defender Jackson White (Danville, Calif./San Ramon Valley) was included on the All-Sportsmanship Team.

Moore led the Scots in scoring this season with four goals and four assists for 12 points. A hard-working midfielder who excels as an attacking player as well as a defender, he notched a goal and an assist in a key 4-1 victory over then-No. 23 Augsburg on Sept. 18. Moore also contributed a goal and an assist in a conference win over Saint Mary's on Oct. 29, and scored the tying goal in a 1-1 draw against Luther on Sept. 8. In 65 career games at Macalester, Moore registered five goals and 10 assists for 20 points.

Orser has emerged as one of the top central defenders in the MIAC, helping the Scots record nine shutouts this season. Also an important part of Macalester's set plays, he scored three goals, with each goal contributing to a win. Orser found the net in victories over Augsburg, Saint Mary's and Carthage.

Krom proved to be a dangerous target up front, often drawing multiple defenders from the opposition. The 6-5 forward tallied game-winning goals at Hamline on Oct. 16 and against Saint Mary's, and he also scored at Saint John's on Sept. 28. An excellent passer, Krom had assists in victories at St. Olaf on Sept. 21 and against Bethel on Oct. 1. The assist in the win over Bethel came in the first minute of overtime. Through three seasons as a Scot, Krom has seven goals and six assists for 20 points in 54 games.

White has been a starter on Macalester's back line for four seasons. This year he moved to center back next to Orser after three seasons as an outside back. A steady and physical defender, White almost led the Scots in minutes played for the second year in a row, playing just three minutes fewer than Orser. Last week he was named to the Academic All-District team for the second year in a row after receiving Academic All-American honors as a junior.

Augsburg's Lionel Vang was selected the MIAC Player of the Year, while Jon Lowery of St. Thomas was chosen the conference's Coach of the Year.

Macalester, coached by Gregg Olson, finished the 2019 season with a 7-6-5 record and qualified for the MIAC Playoffs for the sixth consecutive year.
