DE PERE, Wis. - In their opening meet of this Wisconsin road trip, the Macalester men's swimming and diving team fell to St. Norbert in a dual meet, 55-145. The team tallied three first-place finishes throughout the event.
Sophomore
Benjamin Blomquist (Las Vegas, Nev./Ed W. Clark) compiled one of those wins, finishing the 200 Butterfly in 208:36 to win the event.
Junior
Kieran Cuddy (Northfield, Minn./Northfield) added the other two wins, being the only diver participating in the meet. Cuddy scored a 175.85 in the 1M dive and a 280.05 in the 3M.
First year
Benjamin Levy had a couple of solid races for the Scots, finishing in second in the 200 Individual Medley with a time of 2:17.45 and third in the 200 Backstroke with a time of 2:28.95.
Sophomore
Tanner Hubbard also added two top-three finishes, taking second place in the 500 Freestyle (5:17.89) and third place in the 200 Freestyle (1:57.15).
Teammate
Daniel Chechelnitsky contributed with a third-place finish in the 200 Backstroke, finishing in 2:46.11.
The Scots will return to the pool tomorrow to conclude their road trip, taking on Ripon and Lawrence. The meet is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
