TUCSON, Ariz. – The Macalester College softball team lost their fifth and sixth games in Tucson today on their third day of play. The Scots dropped to both Hood College, 7-3, and University of Wisconsin- La Crosse, 11-3, and are now 5-7.
In the first game, Hood lead 5-0 until in the third first year
Kennedy Kechely (Rochester, Minn./Mayo) doubled to center for a run by sophomore
Julia Carpenter (Stevensville, Mich./Lakeshore). Hood then scored their final two runs in the sixth, up 7-1. In the seventh inning, the Scots scored of a single by Kechley again and a double by first year
Anya Lindell Paulson (St. Louis Park, Minn./St. Louis Park).
Against the University to Wisconsin- La Crosse, Macalester fell behind nine runs into the third inning. But the Scots came back in a hard earned fourth, with three runs of off singles by first year

Sophie Migacz (McHenry, Ill./McHenry West) and first year Kechely. La crosse went on to score two more runs in the sixth to end the game 11-3.

Sophie Migacz (McHenry, Ill./McHenry West) threw 2 inning in the loss to Hood and closed out the game against La Crosse with just over five innings pitched. First year
Emily Cekander (River Forest, Ill./Oak Park River Forest) threw four innings against Hood, pitching for the second time in Tucson.
The Scots continue in Tucson, Ariz. to play Rochester Institute of Technology at 11:00 a.m. MST and Cornell College at 1:30 p.m. MST at Lincoln Park in on Wednesday, Mar. 14.
