Competed in 21 games and made eight starts for the Scots as a first year utility player...Had 32 at bats and finished the season with six hits (batting .188 on the season)..Bean also made six appearances on the mound in 2015, pitching 11.2 innings and giving up 11 hits and 7 earned runs.. she struck out seven batters.

Earned academic all-conference honors playing softball and bowling for Muscatine High … Named to the all-academic state team … Dean’s List recipient … Graduated in top 10% of class

 

Why did you choose to attend Macalester?

I wanted a school that offered an excellent education while still allowing me to compete at a competitive level for softball.
 

What has your experience at Macalester meant to you so far?
My experience at Mac so far has been great. I've been given the opportunity to learn new cultures and discover who I am as an individual. In general it's been a wonderful learning experience!

How has your experience as a student-athlete at Macalester prepared you for life after graduation?

It's taught me how to work together with people from different backgrounds and how to use each individuals strengths to accomplish one goal. It has also taught me not to give up on something just because it may seem challenging at first.
