ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Macalester College volleyball team dropped a MIAC match to Saint Mary's University, 25-15, 25-15, 25-16 Wednesday night in the Leonard Center. The Scots are now 9-13 overall and 0-7 in the conference, while the Cardinals improve to 11-8, 3-4 MIAC.
Macalester was led by senior outside hitter
Nicole Bennington (Shelton, Wash./Olympia), who had eight kills with one error in 27 attempts. Senior outside hitter
Sofi Ascencio (Oakland, Calif./Holy Names) added six kills and a team-best 12 digs, while sophomore middle hitter
Kendall Ford (Seattle, Wash./The Northwest School) contributed five kills. Senior setter
Emily Bowler (South Salem, N.Y./John Jay) dished out 22 assists to go with five digs. Rachel Kedl paced the Cardinals with nine kills and seven blocks.
Macalester continues MIAC play with a match at Augsburg on Friday, Oct. 12. The match begins at 5:00 p.m. in Minneapolis, Minn.
