SAINT PAUL, Minn. – The Macalester College women's swimming and diving team finished second in a duel against Grinnell College. Grinnell College outscored Macalester 196-97.
First year
Ariel Roghair (Iowa City, Iowa/West) finished third in the 1650-yard freestyle in 20:05.76 and third in the 50-yard freestyle in 27:33.
Sophomore
Ana Thompson (Minnetonka, Minn./ Orono) placed first in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:01:49. Thompson also finished third in the 200-yard butterfly in 1:03.87.
Senior
Kaia Lund (Mondovi, Wis./Eau Claire Memorial) placed first in the 100-yard butterfly in finished 1:01.64. Lund also finished third in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:23.01 and fourth in the 100-yard freestyle in 57.79.
First year
Sophie Mark-Ng (Cambridge, Mass.) placed second in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:14.19 and junior
Olivia Borgmann (Seattle, Wash./Garfield) placed third in a time of 1:14.29. Borgmann also finished first in the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:40.63.
First year
Zoe Schopick (Winchester, Va./James Wood) placed third in the 200-yard backstroke in a time of 2:43.30.
In diving, sophomore
Franki Gillis (River Forest, Ill./ Trinity) finished first in the 1-meter dive with a score of 222.92 and first in the 3-meter dive with a score of 254.15. Senior
Molly Lloyd (Hightstown, New Jersey/ Peddie) placed second in the 1-meter dive with a score of 196.20.
The women's 200-yard medley relay finished second in 1:59.90 with Thompson, Lund, first year
Sophie Mark-Ng (Cambridge, Mass.) and sophomore
Miriam Eide (Rochester, Minn./ Century).
The Scots also finished second in the 200-yard freestyle with Thompson, Lund, Roghair and Bogmann in 1:47.25.
The Scots compete in the MIAC Swimming and Diving Championships on Thursday, Feb. 15 and Friday, Feb. 16 in Minneapolis, MN.
