Women’s Soccer: Macalester Ties with St. Kate’s

ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Macalester College women's soccer team drew a MIAC match at the University of St. Catherine, 0-0 Saturday afternoon. The result leaves the Scots with an overall record of 2-2-1, including a 0-1-1 mark in league play. The Wildcats are now 0-4-1, 0-0-1 MIAC.

St. Kate's held a slight 22-20 edge in shots taken, as first year forward Kate Bond (St. Paul, Minn./St. Paul Academy) led Macalester with seven shots. The Scots outshot the Wildcats, 4-1 in the second overtime period, including three by junior forward Jaime Hasama (Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif./Peninsula), but were unable to net the game-winner. This is the third time in five games this season that Macalester has gone to overtime. Hasama scored the golden goal in each of the previous two overtime contests.

Senior goalkeeper Rachel Wilson-King (Tucson, Ariz./St. Gregory College Prep School) played all 110 minutes and made seven saves for the shutout. Jessica Perez-Adame played the second half and overtime periods for St. Kate's and recorded three saves.

Macalester hosts Luther on Tuesday, Sept. 19 for a non-conference match-up. The game starts at 7:30 p.m. at Macalester Stadium.
