ST. PAUL, Minn.- The Macalester College women's basketball team lost to the University of Northwestern (MN) in their third game of the season. The Scots lost to the Eagles 70-46.
In the third non-conference match up the Scots were plagued by injury when senior
Vivi Gregorich (Boulder, Colo./Boulder) was injured in warmups. In the first quarter Macalester and the Eagles traded shots and the Scots were ahead 14-13.

However, the Scots were unable to keep up with Northwestern (MN) and fell behind 13 points at half time. The Eagles held Macalester to only 14 points in the fourth quarter and seven points in the fourth. Macalester was down 24 points at the end of the game and are now 1-2 on the season.
The Scots were led by senior SeniorÂ
Regan Fruh (Helena, Mont. / Helena) who scored 19 points and is leading Macalester in scoring this season with 56 points total. First year
Justine Barraza (Burbank, Calif/Harvard-Westlake) was second in scoring for the Scots with 9 points.

Macalester once again had a solid night at the line with 78.9 percent free-throw shooting percentage. Fruh and first yearÂ
Kayla Togneri (Ventura, Calif./ Ventura) each had two blocks on the night.

Northwestern was led by Amy Berglund who totaled 18 points and five steals on the night.
Macalester will return to action on at home against the University of Wisconsin- La Crosse on Thursday, Nov. 30 at home in St. Paul, Minn. at 7:00 p.m. Â
