ST. BONIFACIUS, Minn.- The Macalester College women's basketball team won their first game of the season against Crown College. The Scots defeated the Storm 70-57 in their second game of their 2017-18 campaign.

In the second non-conference match up the Scots led Crown in the first three quarters and held onto the lead despite being outscored by 11 points in the fourth quarter. The Scots again had a great free-throw shooting night, shooting 72.7 percent in the second half and 57.9 percent overall.

The Scots were led by senior Vivi Gregorich (Boulder, Colo./Boulder) who scored 20 points, leading Macalester with four three-pointers. First year Kayla Togneri was second in scoring with 11 points and was also second in rebounds tallying eight off the glass. Senior Regan Fruh (Helena, Mont. / Helena) had another solid night on both ends of the court with 10 points and nine rebounds.

Crown  was led by Kayla Carter who shot 6 of 15 and finished with 22 points on the night.

Macalester will return to action on Monday, Nov. 27 against the University of Northwestern at home in St. Paul, Minn. Tip-off is set for 5:45 p.m.
