WINONA, Minn. – After surrendering a second-half goal, the Macalester College women's soccer team fought back to defeat Saint Mary's University on the road, 2-1 in double-overtime in a MIAC game Saturday afternoon at Ochrymowycz Field. The Scots improve to 6-6-3 overall and move into eighth place in the conference with a 3-4-2 league record. The Cardinals drop to 5-10-1, 0-8-1 MIAC.

Clara Webby (San Francisco, Calif./Urban School of San Francisco), who scored two second-half goals in a 2-2 tie at St. Scholastica on Monday, tallied the equalizer for Macalester in the 73rd minute off an assist from junior forward
Jaime Hasama (Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif./Peninsula).
The game eventually went to overtime, and late in the second overtime period, Hasama came through with an unassisted goal in the 109th minute. The goal is the third overtime game-winner this season for Hasama, who also beat UW-Eau Claire and UW-Stevens Point with extra-session goals.

Emma Toomer (Lynchburg, Va./Loudon County) started and made three saves in the first half. Senior goalkeeper
Rachel Wilson-King (Tucson, Ariz./St. Gregory College Prep School) played the final 64 minutes and recorded three saves. Zoe Boleneus had six saves for the Cardinals, as the Scots held a 15-12 edge in shots.
Macalester is still alive for a top-six finish and a spot in the MIAC Playoffs with two games to play. The Scots host the College of Saint Benedict on Wednesday, Oct. 25 in the final home game of the regular season. The conference match starts at 7:00 p.m. at Macalester Stadium.
