ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Macalester men's golf team faced Carleton in a match play format on Saturday at Highland National Golf Course. The Scots and Knights played three six-hole matches, with the Knights winning, 6-3.

Senior Drew Gumlia (Tustin, Calif./Foothill) and junior Jack Buan (Osseo, Minn./Wayzata) pushed one match and lost two. Senior Josh Wingardner (Boxford, Mass./St. John's Preparatory) played in another group and pushed all three of his matches. Sophomore Samuel Brancazio (Swarthmore, Pa./Strath Haven) and first year Alex Young-Williams (Arlington, Va./Yorktown) were in another group and went 1-2.

Macalester competes in the MIAC Championships on Oct. 8-10 at Bunker Hills Golf Course in Coon Rapids, Minn.
