ST. PAUL, Minn. – Macalester College sophomore Nick McMullen (Payson, Ariz./Payson) was named to the Division III All-Midwest Region third team by d3baseball.com, the website announced. McMullen received All-MIAC honors earlier this month.

A first baseman and outfielder, McMullen batted .368 with 49 hits, 25 runs, 10 doubles, five home runs and 32 RBIs. He tied for the team lead in hits, runs and RBIs while pacing the Scots with 12 stolen bases in 13 attempts to rank second in the MIAC. In a 9-4 win against Hamline on Apr. 6, McMullen went 5-for-5 with two doubles and three RBIs. The performance helped him garner MIAC Player of the Week honors on Apr. 11.

Macalester, coached by Matt Parrington, had an overall record of 17-18 this spring, including a 6-14 mark in MIAC play.
