PALM DESERT, Calif. – Macalester's men's and women's golf teams faced Concordia-St. Paul in their Spring Break competition Thursday afternoon at La Quinta Dunes. The men's team lost in match play, 4 1/2 to 1 1/2, while the women's team won two of three matches.

Sophomore Blaze Beecher (Edina, Minn./Breck School) won his match, 2/1, while junior Drew Gumlia (Tustin, Calif./Foothill) halved his match. On the women's side, sophomore Jessica Yost (Hartland, Wis./Arrowhead) was victorious, 4/2, and senior Jessica Stone (Granada Hills, Calif./Notre Dame) won her match, 4/3.

Prior to today's competition, the Scots have played practice rounds over the past two days as a part of the teams' Spring Break trip.
