ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Macalester College women's swimming and diving team fell in a dual at St. Catherine University, 138-105 Friday evening at the Butler Center. Sophomore
Kaia Lund (Mondovi, Wis./Eau Claire Memorial) had two first-place finishes for the Scots.
Lund finished first in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 26.23 seconds. She also grabbed a first place finish in the 100-yard butterfly in 1:02.38.
Smaranda Georgescu (Henderson, Nev./Green Valley) also posted a first place finish on the night. Georgescu won the 100-yard freestyle in a season-best 54.75 seconds. Georgescu was second in the 200-yard freestyle clocking in another season-best time 2:03.62.
Kaila Chapman (Lino Lakes, Minn./Centennial) placed second in the 100-yard butterfly, finishing in a season-best 1:04.52.
Kendall Van Sistine (Oshkosh, Wis. / Lourdes ) placed third in the 1650 freestyle in 20:39.12, followed by
Brooke Finney (Grand Rapids, Mich. / Jenison) who finished fourth and posted a conference qualifying time of 20:42.42.
Divers
Molly Lloyd (Hightstown, New Jersey / Peddie) and
Anik Regan (Tucson, Ariz. / University) both qualified for the conference meet on the boards tonight. Regan placed second on the one-meter scoring 192.65 and third on the three-meter (170). Lloyd was fourth on the one-meter and second on the three meter, scoring 191.70.
The Scots return to action tomorrow when they host Grinnell College at the Leonard Center beginning at noon.
