Why did you choose to attend Macalester?
I chose Macalester because I knew it was a place that would challenge me in all areas of my life.
What has your experience at Macalester meant to you so far?
Macalester has become my second home. The community has both supported and challenged me as I further my education.
How has your experience as a student-athlete at Macalester helped shape you as an individual?
Being a student-athlete has taught me so much about managing my time. Practices have kept me healthy and happy, and the Little Scots program has allowed me to share my passion for athletics with young girls and engage in the community. The Macalester Swimming and Diving Team is my family at school. Their love and support not only in the pool but also in the classroom has helped me to be successful.
How has your experience as a student-athlete at Macalester prepared you for life after graduation?
Being a student athlete has taught me how to manage my time and prioritize the things that are most important to me. Maybe the most valuable lesson I have learned through the swim team is that it is ok to ask for help and lean on others for support. I now know the importance of building a strong, supportive community around me.
