ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Macalester College men's swimming and diving team narrowly lost a dual meet to Hamline, 133-115 Saturday afternoon at Bush Pool.
First year
Jacob Roux (Watertown, N.Y./Watertown) won both diving events, posting season-best scores of 202.25 in the 1-meter event and 212.70 on the 3-meter board. Roux also won the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 1:00.27. Other first-place finishes in the individual events include first year
Calvin Dretske (Winona, Minn./Winona) in the 200 breaststroke (2:33.87) and senior
Ben Kromash (Chicago, Ill./Whitney M. Young) in the 500 freestyle (5:22.36).
In the relays, Kromash, sophomore
Sam Gleason (Bloomington, Minn./Jefferson) and first years
Sean Cheng (Los Altos Hills, Calif./Los Altos) and
Taylor Durbin (Bethesda, Md./Bethesda Chevy Chase) won the 200 yard freestyle relay in 1:35.03.
Macalester hosts Grinnell College in a dual meet on Saturday, Jan. 30 at Riley Pool in the Leonard Center.
