ResultsHASTINGS, Minn. -- Jack Buan made an auspicious debut for Macalester as his even-par, 73, led the Scots to a school-record score in a 300-318 win over St. Mary's at the Mac-Mary's Dual meet on the Silver Course at Emerald Greens Golf Course.
The 7,163-yard, par 73, Silver Course could not get the best of Buan and the rest of his team fared nearly as well as just four shots spearted Macalester's top four golfers.
Sophomore
Drew Gumlia was just one stroke back at 74 while first-year
Blaze Beecher carded a 76 and sophomore
Josh Wingardner checked in with a 77.
Dan Shi and
James Meyerson, who did not figure in the team scoring for the Scots, record an 80 and 82, respectively.
Macalester returns to play Saturday with another dual meet, versus Crown, which gets underway at 1 p.m. at Island View Golf Club in Waconia, Minn.
