Game 2 box In an MIAC doubleheader moved from Macalester to Carleton due to field conditions, the Carleton Knights rolled to an 18-5 and 18-6 sweep over the Scots. Carleton won game two 18-6 in seven innings on the 10-run rule.
In the opening game, the Knights piled up 16 hits, including a couple homers, and led all the way after scoring three times in the first inning and five times in the second. Five fourth-inning tallied increased their lead to 14-0.
Justin Sims (Sr., Bronx, N.Y. / The Beacon School) went 2-for-3 with an RBI for Macalester, while the Scots also picked up runs driven in by
Danny Halloran (So., Eden Prairie, Minn.),
Quentin Stuart (Fy., Nashville, Ind. / Indiana Academy) and
Scott Foltz (Jr., St. Louis Park, Minn.).
In the nightcap, Carleton again jumped out quickly, this time crossing the plate six times in the first inning.
Tom Forster (Jr., Stillwater, Minn.) was 3-for-4 with two RBI and
Nick Sia (So., Crofton, Md. / South River) was 2-for-2 with three runs scored and two runs batted in.
Macalester (now 5-12 on the season and 0-5 in the MIAC) jumps right back into action tomorrow when it hosts an MIAC twinbill with Concordia at 2:30 p.m.
