Box Score 2 Macalester hosted Wisconsin-Superior Monday at Nicholson and earned a non-conference split with the Yellow Jackets, taking the first game 12-11 with a pair of runs in the final inning before dropping the nighcap 15-3. The Scots are now 11-19 on the season.
Four Scots compiled three hits apiece to lead Macalester to its game one victory:
Phillip Stuhr (So., Onalaska, Wis.),
Tom Forster (Jr., Stillwater, Minn.),
Aidan Hennen (Fy., St. Paul, Minn. / Cretin-Derham Hall) and
Justin Sims (Sr., Bronx, N.Y. / The Beacon School). Stuhr and
Ross Bronfenbrenner (Sr., San Anselmo, Calif. / Marin Academy).
Each team plated four runs in the first inning and after the Yellow Jackets extended their lead to lead to 9-5, Macalester fought back to win with four fourth-inning runs, a solo fifth-inning score, and the two game-winners in the bottom of the sixth on RBI hits by Forster and
Peter Bertel (Fy., Minneapolis, Minn. / Southwest).
Ryan Fleming (So., Charlotte, Vt. / Champlain Valley Union) gained the win out of the bullpen and
Forest Redlin (Fy., Tempe, Ariz. / Tempe Prep Academy) picked up the save.
Quenten Stuart (Fy., Nashville, Ind. / Indiana Academy) went 2-for-3 with a pair of RBI to lead the Scots in game two.
Macalester plays host to MIAC rival St. Thomas tomorrow at 2:30 p.m.
