Cloepfil scores three times; Scots roll past Nebraska Wesleyan 5-0

Box Score
Georgia Cloepfil (Jr., Portland, Ore. / Lincoln) netted a three-goal hat trick as Macalester  turned a 1-0 halftime lead into a decisive 5-0 romp over Nebraska Wesleyan in the first of the team's two games this weekend at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa.  The Scots are 2-1 on the year and play tomorrow against Luther.

Cloepfil, who scored the only goal of the match last weekend in a win over nationally-ranked Wisconsin-Whitewater, opened the scoring in the 13th minute, and then added goals in the 52nd, 62nd and 70th minutes.

Macalester also received scores from Hannah Walker (So., Falls Church, Va. / George Mason) and Ingrid Greene (So., Madison, Wis. / Memorial).  Both their goals were their first Mac career scores.

The Scots attacked for a 19-4 lead in shots on goal.  Mac had a 7-1 corner kick advantage and forced 14 NWU saves.

Goalkeeper Rosie Glenn-Finer (Sr., San Francisco, Calif. / Lick-Wilmerding) made three saves to post her 23rd career shutout and 25th win.

After playing Luther tomorrow, the Scots kick off their MIAC season Tuesday (Sept. 11) at home against St. Benedict at 7:30 p.m.
