Season gets underway at St. Thomas

Complete Macalester vs. St. Thomas meet results

Macalester took on St. Thomas, one of the MIAC's top teams, in a season-opening dual meet at UST and were defeated by the Tommies 120-52.

Domi Lauko (So., Whitefish Bay, Wis.) placed third in the 100-yard butterfly (1:02.57) and Clark Jacobson (So., Harvard, Mass. / The Bromfield School) finished third in the 100 freestyle (55:23).  Jesse Goldblum (So., New Haven, Conn. / Cheshire Academy) turned in the third-best time in the 500 free (6:11.42).

On Tuesday (Nov. 8), the Scots and other Twin Cities MIAC teams will participate in the fifth annual Ted Mullen “Leave it in the Pool” Hour of Power Relay in the name of cancer research at Mac's Riley Pool. The event is in honor of former Carleton College student and athlete Edward H. “Ted” Mullin, who passed away from sarcoma, a rare soft-tissue cancer, in 2006.

The team's next competitive meet is Friday, Nov. 18 against St. Mary's at the Riley Pool at 6 p.m.
