Macalester vs. St. Thomas statistics
Macalester tied the match 76 minutes into the contest, but host-St. Thomas responded with its second goal in the 86th minute to defeat the Scots 2-1. With their second straight one-goal loss, the Scots drop to 8-5-1 overall and 4-2-1 in the MIAC. The Tommies jump to 6-3-2 overall and pass Macalester in the league standings at 4-1-2.
St. Thomas took a 1-0 lead into the halftime break after Jenna Savino gave the home team its first goal in the 29th minute.

These two rivals have played to four ties over their last 10 battles, but this time it was a UST victory as Tommie forward Katy Scherer put away the game-winner at 85:32.
St. Thomas out-shot Mac 10-6 and led 6-5 in shots on goal. The Tommies topple the Scots for just the second time since 2002 as Macalester came in with a 5-1-4 record against UST over the past 10 matches in the series.
In the thick of a multiple-team race for a top-four finish and MIAC playoff spot, the Scots look to get back on the winning track Saturday (Oct. 15) when they play at St. Olaf for their fifth road match in a row. After that, they close out the regular season with three home matches.
