Complete Macalester vs. St. Mary's results
Macalester toppled St. Mary's 111-82 in an MIAC dual meet Friday night in St. Paul.
Nathan Young (Sr., Denver, Colo. / Littleton) and
Jeff Yamashita (Sr., Honolulu, Hi. / Iolani School) each swam to a couple first-place finishes to lead the way. Young took first in the 200-yard individual medley (2:09.08) and 100-yard backstroke (54.20), while Yamashita won the 50 freestyle (22.61) and 100 butterfly (55.43).
Ted Metz (So., Teaneck, N.J.) won the 1000-yard freestyle (11:44.72) and
Jackson Gilkey (So., Millis, Mass. / Zaverian Brothers) won the 500 free (5:43.64).
Macalester also won the 200-yard medley relay (1:52.60) behind the swims of
Clark Jacobson (Fy., Harvard, Mass. / The Bromfield School),
Nathan Schachtman (Fy., St. Louis, Mo. / Ladue),
Alex Paczek (Fy., Wake Forest, N.C. / Phillips Exeter Academy) and Paco Venneri (Jr., Los Alamos, N.M.).
The Scots host the Roger Ahlman Invitational tomorrow at Riley Pool. Diving events start at 9 a.m. and the swimming competition starts at 1 p.m.
