Macalester tourney statistics
One day after delivering their head coach Stephanie Schleuder her 700th career volleyball coaching win, the Scots completed their perfect 3-0 run through the Macalester Invitational, sweeping Oklahoma Wesleyan and Grinnell 3-0 Saturday afternoon at the Leonard Center. The Scots are now 6-7 on the season.
Erin Cusac (Sr., Pine River, Minn. / Pine River-Backus) and
Majra Mucic (Jr., Zenica, Bosnia / St. Louis Park – Minn.) were named to the six-player all-tournament team.
Macalester attacked at a .242 clip against Oklahoma Wesleyan, compared to .056 for the Eagles, and received 11 kills from Cusac and nine from Mucic.
Danielle Dweck (So., Sea Cliff, N.Y. / North Shore) dished out 31 assists. Dweck also led the team with eight digs.
Anna Trier (Fy., Sun Prairie, Wis.) served four aces and Mucic added four blocks.
The Scots claimed three close sets against Grinnell, taking the match 25-22, 25-23 and 25-18. Mucic slammed 18 kills against just one error in 26 attacks, and Macalester hit .288 for the match. Cusac added 11 kills (hitting .308), and along with
Glasha Marcon (Fy., Richmond, Calif. / Albany), led the team with 10 digs. Dweck added 35 set assists to her 31 against OWU.
Macalester gets back to conference play when it hosts St. Olaf Wednesday (Sept. 23) at 7 p.m.
